Donated Building materials helps those in need twice
History and Purpose
Habitat Home Supply, Inc. (HHS) was established in 2001 as a retail center for new and used building supplies, appliances, furniture and household items. All of our merchandise is donated (tax-deductible) from individuals or businesses in the community, and sold at 50% to 90% of the original retail cost.
We’re Looking for Donations
The Habitat Home Supply Store is looking for good usable building materials to resell. This business is beneficial in several ways: First, we keep stuff out of the landfill. (Last year we figured we saved roughly 1500 cu. yd. from going into the landfill.) Second, folks can purchase those materials for a pretty good price for their own remodeling projects. Third, your donation is tax-deductible. And last, the money the store makes goes to the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate to build affordable homes for families in La Plata County.
Here are some of the items we carry:
kitchen cabinets
lighting and electrical supplies
doors and windows
hardware
tile
lumber and sheet goods
plumbing fixtures and supplies
appliances
furniture
If you’re doing a remodel and have some of these items in good shape, please consider us. Or, if you’ve decided to do some spring cleaning in your storage shed, we’ll be glad to take things off your hands. Call us at 382-9931 for a pick-up or stop by the store at 30th Street and Main Avenue. You’re also welcome to drop your donations off at the store during regular hours - Monday through Friday 10 am to 5 pm and Saturday 10 am to 3 pm.
